One Pot of Chili: How ProstTree Farms Chili Brings People Together

The ProstTree Farm Family6 min read

From grass-fed beef raised with regenerative care to a pot of chili served over crispy nachos with a fried egg — the story of our award-winning chili and the community it keeps feeding.

It Starts in the Pasture

Every pot of ProstTree Farms Chili begins long before the kitchen — it begins in the pasture. Our grass-fed beef comes from cattle raised the slow way: rotated across open fields, finished on grass, and cared for with regenerative practices that leave the soil better each season.

Since 2005, this has been the whole idea. Start with one cow raised right, and build from there. Today our herd has grown to eighteen, and they share the farm with Berkshire pigs known for their rich, honest flavor. Nothing rushed, nothing shortcuts — just time, pasture, and care.

The Pot Everyone Talks About

Then comes the chili itself. Slow-simmered with tomatoes, chilies, and patience, our award-winning recipe has a way of turning a first bite into a conversation. Ask anyone who has had it the traditional way: ladled over crispy nachos, crowned with a fried egg over easy and a generous blanket of shredded cheddar.

It is a plate that asks you to slow down. Restaurants across the region serve ProstTree Farms Chili because it tastes like somewhere — like pasture, like harvest, like a table full of friends. That is not an accident. That is what grass-fed beef raised with care is supposed to taste like.

Brewery Nights and Full-Circle Tables

Some of our favorite nights happen when a local brewery opens its doors and we bring the pot. Each collaboration is its own creation: the brew works alongside the chili, drawing out deep, earthy flavors in the pot — though we promise, the chili never tastes like beer. Every brewery brings out something a little different, and every batch tells you where it came from.

And the story keeps circling home. As we build out the farm in Blandford and look toward reopening Alice's Restaurant in Stockbridge, the pot keeps doing what it has always done — gathering people around one table. From one grass-fed cow to a movement of neighbors, restaurants, and brewers: this is chili worth bragging about, and we are just getting started.
